Subramaniam Vaikuntam is a passionate singer , a very good trainer of Indian Music and an IT professional in a Las Vegas based Gaming company . He considers himself lucky to be a Tamilian , raised in Mumbai so as to be exposed to songs from both these languages . He is also a Nostalgiaana (online live radio on Zoom) Jukebox anchor.
Subramaniam Vaikuntam has been performing and doing researches in Hindi Film music . He has steadily made good progress over the years as a well-admired singer in the community . Both in Vegas as well as in entire US , he is held today in high esteem among the performers and practitioners of Hindi Film songs . His brother is also a connoisseur of Hindi Film music .
In 2018 , he was the semi-finalist at the Hindi Manch Senior Singing competition . Two years later, he was in the Grand Finale of the 3iii – International Indian Icon in the Senior Singing competition , participated by the singers worldwide. A year later he was again in the semi-finals of the 3iii 2021 edition . Over the past two years , he has taken his singing to another height by himself obtaining Carnatic vocal training from Shri Gopal Venkataraman and Hindustani Classical Vocal training from Pandit Amit Chakraborty .
Dr. Khan was born in Zambia. He grew up in India and Zimbabwe, and graduated from the University of Zimbabwe School of Medicine. Dr. Khan was recognized as the “Top Medical Graduate” while also breaking several academic records. After working for a year in Zimbabwe serving underprivileged patients, he moved to the United States to complete his medical residency in Cleveland, Ohio. This was followed by a Fellowship in Cardiovascular Medicine and a one year Fellowship in Interventional Cardiology in Detroit, Michigan. Dr. Khan is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Cardiovascular Medicine, Interventional Cardiology, Cardiovascular Computed Tomography and Nuclear Cardiology.
He was the first cardiologist to perform carotid stents in Las Vegas and is the highest volume operator for carotid stents in Southern Nevada and Northern Arizona.
Dr. Khan and his wife, Sharlin, have three beautiful children. They both enjoy foreign culture and history, traveling widely, hiking and SCUBA diving.
Sharlin Ahmed is a Genetic Engineer by profession with a BS in Microbiology, MS in Biotechnology and a Ph.D. in Genetic Engineering. She graduated from The University of Zimbabwe in Harare, Zimbabwe and spent 1.5 years in The Netherlands where she finished part of her MS and PhD Programs, respectively. Sharlin was born and raised in Southern Africa. She is a retired online Biology Professor . She is also a Past President of The Clark County Medical Society Alliance in Nevada - a non-profit organization comprised of physician spouses. Currently she is on the Board of Trustees at The Meadows School. She is married to Dr. Shahab Khan, an Interventional cardiologist with Nevada Heart and Vascular.
They moved to Las Vegas from Detroit in 2005, where she managed a Neurology Genetics Lab at The Wayne State University. They have three beautiful children: Noor Isra Khan, Mehrzad Shahab Khan, and Mehtab Azhar. They also have triplet Doberman sons, Kosmo, Koko & Kai.
Among her hobbies are cooking, traveling, diving, shooting, spending quality time with her family and very close friends. However, probably most importantly, she enjoys listening to music of all genres and singing.
Dr. Rekha Subramanian holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science from Colorado Technical University. She completed her master’s degree in India before relocating to the United States. Currently, she works as a software engineer at a U.S.-based firm and also serves as a part-time faculty member at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas.
In addition, she founded and operates a nonprofit STEM education academy dedicated to teaching robotics to elementary and middle school students.
